Vaccines

Tomorrow Lucas will get his first round of shots! We will be following the Dr. Sears Alternative Schedule, so tomorrow --instead of 5 shots (HiB, DTaP, PCV, Polio and Rotavirus)-- he will only get DTaP and the oral Rotavirus (RV) vaccine.
Less shots at the same time for the little one this way. HiB and PCV will come at 3 months and IPV (inactive polio) not until 9 months. It's, in our opinion, the best tradeoff between getting him all the vaccines he needs, and not shocking his body with too much stuff at once.
To compare: most pediatricians use the CDC Recommended Schedule, and below I'm pasting Dr. Sears' schedule.
